Love and care for someone can be with you for quite some time after the end of a relationship, and this can leave you confused as to what to do.

Have the Knowledge

What first needs to be concluded is if you still retain feelings for this person. Do you find yourself constantly asking questions, or show an interest in them? You could find yourself asking people random questions pertaining to this person, and if so, this could be a good indicator that you still care for your ex.

Too Much Effort

If you catch yourself trying to make yourself more appealing, first ask yourself why. Could it be because you just want to look nice, I.E an occasion? Or your ex that you still care about? If it is for your ex, then understand firstly, that it is because you subconsciously want yourself to look more appealing for this person. Another sign that you are going further for your ex is frequenting places they happen to, or might be. This could even be avoiding your ex, making sure that your ex is not around when you're in a situation where they might see you at your worst.

Saying Anything

If you happen to be in a conversation with your ex, do you tend to be overly agreeable to them, or overly submissive to a request that they might have? This is most likely responsible to the increased feelings you have for them, subconsciously attempting to gain their appeal, whether you're aware of it or not. Examples of this could be defending them from comments made from friends or family, saying "yes" to requests they have, no matter how odd, or simply going out of your way to compliment them.
